Gravel Meeting Update

These are the main items from the last Gravel Meeting held on 28 Mar 2023:

The Restoration Scheme has been checked by Jenny and confirmed as okay.

Bentonite wall works have been suspended due to the weather along with soil stripping and seeding the nature reserve. A revised program is being put together and an Ecologist will be present on site during the works – Skylarks are nesting there.

Report of Trespassers on the bunds – an inspection was carried out and no damage found.

Night time security lighting – this has now been resolved, the timers had not been reset after electrical testing.

Footpath cleaning – confirmation has been received that Footpaths 93 and 94 are Public Rights of Way and considered part of the local authorities responsibility to maintain. The cleaning dept has been informed so that the 2 footpaths are included in their program.

Nature Reserve aftercare – works still need to be completed before it can be handed back to Redbridge Council.

The Burnt hedgerow – it is part of Brett’s Restoration Plan.

Fly tipping – Painters Rd and Hainault Rd, the large piles of fly tipping on Hainault Rd have been cleared.

Aldborough Hatch Farm- build up of rubbish near the barn is to be investigated.
