Many of you will have heard there’s a planning application (2252/24 ) to build on the Sports Ground in Barkingside. The Sports Ground is designated a Sports Ground, its protected open space.
The Location stated on the Planning Application is Development at Sports Ground rear of Greenleafe Drive Brandonville Gardens and Woodville Gardens, Barkingside Ilford.
We aren’t sure what Redbridge has against Sports Grounds, first it was Oakfields Playing Fields (still ongoing) now its the Sports Ground in Barkingside. Both provide very necessary outdoor facilities for grassroots football, cricket and athletics. Yet apparently an outdoor swimming pool / Lido is necessary.
