Community Air Quality Monitoring

Community air quality monitoring ‘We care for our air’ is where local residents receive diffusion tubes to monitor what the air is like in the areas that matter to them.

The results are availble to view on a map here at today’s date it looks like this

AHDA now has 5 diffusers so that more of Aldborough Ward will be covered. We look forward to seeing the results!

Other Activities planned for summer

·Installation of two Breathe London nodes in each focus area, helping to monitor community air quality.
·A mid-project community air quality monitoring workshop run by Mapping for Change – date and venue to be announced shortly!
·The roll out of Air Beam particulate matter (PM2.5) monitors to residents for use on daily journeys around the borough.
·Launch of Clean Air Play Streets.
·Delivery of air quality workshops in Primary and Secondary schools – creating and promoting walk zone active travel maps to their school communities.
·Finalising production of We Care for Our Air resource packs for delivery around the borough. We will be asking LBR and PH/ NHS colleagues for contributions and final approvals.
·We Care for Our Air summer events in partner schools and attending other events around the borough.
·Launch of the Redbridge in Motion – film recording competition, aiming to capture sustainable journeys made around the borough.
·Launch of the project’s main advertising campaign, using feedback from the pilot.
·Presentations and events in community spaces across the borough, and Brief Intervention conversations with residents.
