AHDA has raised concerns with our Councillors:
The horse riding route
The east nature reserve is getting very degraded by heavier use of horse riders and impassible in places for other users, pedestrians, cyclists, and anyone with a push chair.
AHDA have asked if solution to this continued problem being considered in the master plan, for example dividing the route, with a separate space for horse riders and other users or improving the surface and drainage in particularly wet areas. Along with improvements to the Bridal path sign which is not always visable.
Camping – a large tent and associated mess has been there for some time … is this permitted? if so, why?
Fun Fair – Locally known as the “Winter Dismaland” seems to have taken a long time to be dismantled along with a considerable amount of mess.

Jenny (Vice Chair) attended the meeting.
Signage – there were good ideas about information boards and discussions on replacing the Fairlop Waters sign at the entrance. The entrance sign is relatively new and no doubt cost a lot of money so it seems a shame if not a waste to be changing that.
Playhouse – The plan is to put a children’s wooden playhouse in one of the most isolated parts of the Country Park. Jenny raised the point that many parks are removing wooden play structures due to high maintenance costs, safety issues, accidents especially when wet and slippery. As well as concerns over pressure treated wood and the chemicals used for that.
Is the budget being spent wisely?
