Fairlop Plain Green Belt – development Plans

Fairlop Plain Green Belt – Forest Farm, Forest Road Development plans

Wates Developments are planning to build 350 homes on Green Belt land at Forest Farm. They have already acquired the land, which is next to Fairlop Station and extends down to Forest Industrial Estate.

Wates’ PR company, Cratus Group have been in contact with neighbours inviting them to be part of the conversation as their plans develop. Although Cratus, did not contact us.

So we contacted them and this was their reply:

“ AHDA is already on our community stakeholder list. As an immediate neighbour, we’ll be in touch to share more information about our proposals and how you and your members can get involved as part of our engagement with neighbouring properties.”

We are grateful to Save Oakfield Supporters (S.O.S) for providing a copy of Wates’ site plan:

  1. Interesting they said they have been in contact with neighbours. I am an immediate neighbour and it’s the first time I see this!!! Thank you for sharing the news.

    1. Thank you, as we noted in are article, we are local Stakeholders and they hadn’t been in contact with us either. If you would like the PR Company’s contact details please use the Contact Us.

    2. Exactly, they never consult local residents even when they say they do! Ridiculous idea with so much traffic already on that road plus destroying our green belt.

  2. Fairlop plain and its surrounding green belt areas, have been under threat from several development plans. Enough is enough! I dare say that the residents will have issues with Underground commuters, unless the Council come up with residential parking.

Too much traffic already uses Forest Road, so this proposed estate will add to the bottlenecks.

Is there likely to be a petition against this plan?

  3. I don’t want redevelopment plans to happen as I like the farm shop and i don’t want to to be demolished by redevelopment.

Too much traffic already use Forest Road every day.

I want Forest Road how it is now.

    1. Fair enough, when the planning application comes out that will be the time to make comments on it. If you are a neighbour of the site then the PR company should be in contact with you and there are likely to be local meetings held by them or the developers to explain their plans which you can attend to make your feelings known.

  4. If they do away with Forest Road Garden Centre as well as Forest Road Farm Shop where are we supposed to go to buy plants, gardening tools, food for Pets etc and moreover, support our local neighbourhood. Complete madness…..
